What is the difference between Nitropack and WP Rocket?
Nitropack is an all-in-one cloud-based site speed optimization software while WP Rocket is the number one premium caching plugin for WordPress.
Both serve the same purpose but offer different features and work in different ways.
Nitropack is obviously a more advanced and complete piece of software. Unlike WP Rocket, includes built-in global CDN and image optimization features. It is proven to improve Web Core Vitals and works with platforms other than WordPress like Magento or Opencart.
On the other hand, WP Rocket is only WordPress based and you have to pay a different plan if you want to use their CDN services for an extra $9/mo.
Nitropack offers a free plan, while WP Rocket doesn’t. Nitropack is way more expensive, though. The good thing is that Nitropack allows you to test the platform with the free plan.
Nitropack is probably better suited for larger websites that require an all-in-one solution to improve any load time issues.
WP Rocket is an essential WordPress plugin good for those who have a lightweight Theme and one of the best web hosting providers. WP Rocket is a good solution to get the ball rolling for a much more affordable price.
How Nitropack works
Nitropack has the power of replacing many other plugins by being an all-in-one solution.
With Nitropack you can replace:
- CDN
- WordPress Caching plugin
- code optimization tools
- Image optimization
- And more…
The software is compatible with any kind of website and it is very easy to use and implement.
Nitropack for WordPress
The first thing that you need to do to start using Nitropack on a WordPress site is basically to download the plugin by clicking on “Add New Plugin” under the Plugins section of your WordPress dashboard.
After installing the Nitropack plugin you can configure the optimization mode:
- Standard
- Medium
- Strong
- Ludicrous
- Manual
The strong mode is the default one and probably the one you should use if you don’t have a lot of technical knowledge.
The Ludicrous and Manual modes can cause some issues with other plugins.
On the Nitropack Dashboard you can see at a glance all the features you can use to optimize your website:
- CDN
- Caching options
- Image optimization
- Critical CSS
- Lazy loading
- Code optimization
- And much more…
You can tweak these features as you want or you can just let Nitropack run automatically.
The good thing about Nitropack is that replaces many other optimization plugins and offers everything under the same umbrella.
How WP Rocket works
WP Rocket is considered the best caching plugin on the market because it allows you to easily improve the website performance without breaking the bank.
The way the WP Rocket plugins work is:
- Crawls and saves a static copy of your page in the cache
- Every time a user accesses your website, WP Rocket shows the cached page instead of generating a page on the fly.
- This process frees up the server resources of your website and improves the overall loading speed.
How to install WP Rocket on WordPress
Just like with Nitropack, head to the plugins section and choose “Add New Plugin”.
Then, all you have to do is install and activate the WP Rocket Plugin.
You will then see a dedicated section under settings on your main menu for WP Rocket. Here you can access all the plugin settings and configure them.
Caching options in WP Rocket
The plugin will already have page caching enabled by default.
Here you can access the cache enabler and tweak things like mobile caching, user caching, and the cache lifespan.
Minifying with WP Rocket
This basically means that the plugin will automatically make files on your website smaller to create a positive impact on the page speed of your website.
The only problem with minifying this is that this process sometimes can cause problems loading the files. Thay may not work or disappear.
Lazyloading with WP Rocket
This is a technique for lazy load the images on your website that are not visible to users. With this, the website doesn’t load all at once the images on the page and improves the page loading speed.
You can enable this feature on the settings of your plugin just for images or for images and videos.
WP Rocket offers more settings, but these are the core ones and those that can really impact the loading speed of your website.
Customer Support
Both Nitropack and WP Rocket provide different support ways that you can use if you get stuck.
Nitropack support should be a little better for the price that they charge for the tool.
WP Rocket, on the other hand, is known for its great and quickly customer support

Nitropack vs WP Rocket: The verdict
When it comes to pricing, WP Rocket only cost $39,20/per year, while Nitropack costs $210/per year. This is a considerable pricing difference, especially if you are working on a budget.
Nitropack also offers a free plan that you can use if you have a small website that doesn’t get much traffic.
If you want the best one and don’t mind the price tag, I’d definitely go with Nitropack.
If you have a small WordPress website and want to cover the basics, WP Rocket is pretty good and affordable.
The fact that Nitropack also has a built-in CDN also makes a difference because you don’t have to get it elsewhere.
It’s exactly the same with image compression. On the other side, WP Rocket doesn’t offer this so you either have to do it manually or install a different WordPress speed optimization plugin for that.
WP Rocket is very good at what it does but it is limited in features. Nitropack has the whole package but comes at an expensive price.
